There are many benefits to using a propane-powered forklift. Propane burns cleaner than other types of fuels and generally provides more power than an electric battery. If you are interested in learning more about the benefits of using a propane forklift, check out this guide from CCon Metals.

Propane Vs. Diesel

Out of the many different types of fuels used to power forklifts, diesel offers the most torque, making it good for lifting heavy loads. However, diesel engines are also loud and tend to emit a lot of harmful carbon monoxide gas. This can create a safety hazard when working indoors, limiting most diesel forklifts to outdoor use. Propane, on the other hand, is clean burning. This means that propane forklifts can be used both outdoors and in more enclosed spaces, making them more versatile. While both propane and diesel prices can vary, propane is also generally cheaper and easier to find than diesel fuel.

Propane Vs. Electric

While propane forklifts give off less emissions than other fuel types, electric forklifts give off none at all. However, electric forklifts also have a few limitations. For example, certain models of electric forklifts cannot be used under rainy or otherwise moist conditions. Electric forklifts also tend to have less torque than other types of forklifts, limiting how much weight they can carry. Finally, the batteries used to power an electric forklift can take some time to recharge. Compare this to a propane forklift, which has fuel tanks that can be quickly and easily swapped out.
